Music Box’s Alternative Christmas Double Feature 2013
Tuesday 17 December 2013
For 30 years the Music Box Theatre has been the Chicago home for White Christmas and It’s a Wonderful Life, but for the second year in a row, we present an amazing Alternative Christmas Double Feature.
Why? Because most of us at the Music Box are still a little jaded that we never got that remote control car for Christmas 1987. This year, celebrate with a double feature of Scrooged and a tenth anniversary screening of Bad Santa!
Tuesday, December 17th, 2013
- 5:00pm: Bad Santa
- 7:00pm: Scrooged
- 9:30pm: Bad Santa
Tickets are $10 for single feature and $15 for a double feature.

Bad Santa (2003)
directed by Terry Zwigoff starring Billy Bob Thornton, Bernie Mac, Lauren Graham in English
Criminals Willie and Marcus disguise themselves as Santa Claus and his elf and travel across the country to major malls, using the good will people have toward Santa to rob the mall stores blind. The problem is, Willie can’t stand kids and it’s all he can do to keep himself from getting fired while on the job. Their plan still progresses beautifully until the two reprobates meet an introverted 8-year-old boy who thinks Willie is the real Santa Claus. Overweight, awkward, and the frequent target of bullies, the boy manages to arouse something like sympathy from Willie, who tries to give him some advice and develops something vaguely resembling Christmas sprit along the way.
- Tue 17 Dec 2013, 7:00pm
directed by Richard Donner starring Bill Murray, Karen Allen, John Forsythe in English
A cynically selfish TV executive gets haunted by three spirits bearing lessons on Christmas Eve.
