NT Live 2013
Sunday 13 October – Wednesday 20 November 2013
National Theatre Live is the groundbreaking initiative by the UK’s National Theatre to provide high-definition filmed performances of its productions to theaters worldwide.
2013 marks the 50th anniversary of the National Theatre. In 1963, the National Theatre first opened its doors at the Old Vic under Laurence Olivier. Eight hundred productions later, we are celebrating the remarkable people and plays that have made the NT one of the most cherished and creative of the great British institutions.
NT Live broadcasts have now been experienced by over 1.5 million people in 500 venues around the world. Each broadcast is filmed in front of a live audience in the theatre, cameras are carefully positioned throughout the auditorium to ensure that cinema audiences get the “best seat in the house” view of each production.
