A one-night-only special presentation

A new film by Cecilia Peck. This is an incredibly moving and powerful film about an Israeli woman who was raped prior to her winning the Miss World competition in 1998. The movie is an uplifting telling of her story and the advocacy she’s done since then.

The film will be followed by a panel discussion featuring:
· Ms. Lisa Madigan – Illinois Attorney General
· Ms. Jennifer Welch – Chicago Department of Family and Support Services.
· A Victims from Chicago
· CAASE, YWCA – Victims Services organizations in Chicago.

Brave Miss World

directed by Cecilia Peck starring Linor Abargil, Morgan Carpenter, Joan Collins

The documentary Brave Miss World tells the story of former Miss World 1998 Linor Abargil who was abducted and raped seven weeks before her win, and her mission to empower fellow sexual assault survivors to share their stories and to stand up against sexual violence. The film shows how Abargil transformed from an 18-year-old pageant queen to a lawyer and advocate. Following the film there will be a Q&A.
