La Danse with a special guest from the Paris Opera Ballet

A member of the Paris Opera Ballet will appear in person at this special return engagement to discuss the film.

The Paris Opera Ballet makes its long overdue Chicago debut during a one-week engagement in the summer of 2012 at the Harris Theater. Considered “one of the world’s greatest companies,” (Ballet News UK) its Chicago engagement launches the company’s 2012 North American Tour with their first American performances in more than a decade.

The full 154-member company will perform two diverse programs—??Giselle??, and a program of mixed repertoire to include Suite en blanc by Serge Lifar, Roland Petit’s L’Arlésienne, and Le Boléro by Maurice Béjart—accompanied by the Grant Park Orchestra in a first-ever collaboration with the Harris Theater.

On Sunday, July 1st 2012 at 1:00pm the Music Box Theatre will host members of the Paris Opera Ballet and a special screening of La Danse, one of the most in-depth looks at any dance company in the world.
