A Civil Action
directed by Steven Zaillian starring John Travolta, Robert Duvall, Tony Shalhoub in English
The families of children who died sue two companies for dumping toxic waste: a tort so expensive to prove, the case could bankrupt their lawyer.
A small-time, self-possessed attorney’s (John Travolta) greed entangles him in a case that threatens to destroy him in this legal thriller based on a true story. The Woburn Case, which evolves into a labyrinthine lawsuit where truth, if it can be found at all, resides not in the courtroom, but deep in the network of deceit and corruption.
Two thumbs up. One of the best legal films in years. A fabulous cast.
