I Am Trying to Break Your Heart: A Film About Wilco documents the band while they working on Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.
The film is shot in black-and-white by director Sam Jones, who also took the iconic photograph of Chicago’s Marina City that was used on Yanke Hotel Foxtrot’s album cover. I Am Trying to Break Your Heart also captures Wilco’s performance at XRT’s Free Fourth of July Concert at Taste of Chicago that year, with brief cameos by Lin Brehmer and Frank E. Lee.
