Pépé le Moko

A film by Julien Duvivier

Trapped by a police raid while slumming in the native section of Algiers, a playgirl encounters the boss of the labyrinthine casbah, Jean Gabin’s French crook-on-the-run Pépé Le Moko. As they share wistful memories of the Paris Métro, it’s clear that if the cops can’t get Pépé, love can.
