Quearborn & Perversion
A film by Ron Pajak
An early history of Lesbian and Gay Chicago.
Dancing was illegal. Bars were raided. Women were required by law to wear 3 pieces of female attire. This sounds like long ago and far away, but it wasn’t. This documentary illuminates the early history of Chicago’s LGBT community, from the speakeasy era to the dawn of disco, from life in the shadows to the first Gay Pride march down Michigan Avenue. QUEARBORN & PERVERSION traces the public and private personae of men and women forced by society to live underground in a secret world. Director Ron Pajak in person.
