The Bay
A film by Barry Levinson
Starring Kristen Connolly, Jane McNeill and Christopher Denham
Chaos breaks out in a small Maryland town after an ecological disaster occurs.
The Bay is a found-footage film about the seaside town of Claridge. Two researchers find an alarming amount of toxicity in the bay, but calls for the mayor to inform the town are ignored. While celebrating the Fourth of July, a parasite from the bay begins attaching to human hosts, eating organs and destroying them from the inside. Using video diaries, home movies, webcams, closed-circuit cameras and Skype chats, director Barry Levinson tells the story of the town’s destruction through the eyes of the terrified residents.
