Dennis Wilson (The Beach Boys) and James Taylor are two drag-racing drifters more devoted to their ’55 Chevy than they are to each other. Along their drive East from LA, they meet Warren Oates and his Pontiac GTO, who promptly challenges them to a cross-country race. The prize: their cars’ respective pink slips.
