Hey Music Boxers,

We have a couple of music-themed special events coming up that we’re excited about, and we wanted to let you know about them!

On Tuesday November 13th at 7:30pm, we’re thrilled to present Coldplay Live 2012, the band’s first concert film/live album for nine years. It documents their acclaimed Mylo Xyloto world tour, which has been seen by more than three million people since it began in June 2011. This is a one-night-only event, so don’t miss out! Tickets on sale now.

Next weekend, the Music Box and Action Pack present R. Kelly’s modern classic Trapped In The Closet. This Sing-Along event will take Trapped in the Closet and give it the full Rocky Horror experience, with subtitles on screen to make it easy to sing-along (or just keep up with the story if you’ve never seen this majesty before), and props like rubbers, spatulas and more to help make the magic moments on screen come alive in the theater. Tickets on sale now.

See you at the movies

Coldplay Live 2012

A film by Paul Dugdale starring Coldplay

Witness the visual spectacle, the intense emotion and the amazing sound of Coldplay in big screen glory.

Coldplay Live 2012 is the band’s first concert film/live album for nine years. It documents their acclaimed Mylo Xyloto world tour, which has been seen by more than three million people since it began in June 2011.

Directed by Paul Dugdale, previously responsible for Adele’s Live at the Royal Albert Hall and The Prodigy’s World’s on Fire concert films, Live 2012 includes footage from Coldplay’s shows at Paris’s Stade de France, Montreal’s Bell Centre and the band’s triumphant Pyramid Stage headline performance at Glastonbury 2011.

“The Mylo Xyloto tour has been the most fun we’ve ever had as a band. It’s felt very uplifting right from the start; partly because we are proud of the music, the LED wristbands, the pyrotechnics, the lasers and all of that stuff, but mainly because of the amazing audiences that we’ve been playing for. Over the years, our crowd has become more and more a part of the concert itself. They’re loud, diverse, full of soul, and make the songs sound much better than we can on our own. We wanted to try to bottle the incredible feeling that they give us, and hence our concert film.” – Chris Martin

Trapped in the Closet

A film by R. Kelly and Jim Swaffield starring R. Kelly, Cat Wilson, and Rolando Boyce

“So I pulled out my beretta…”

In R. Kelly’s classic hip hopera, Kels takes on the role of Sylvester, who has a simple one-night stand with a preacher’s wife and then ends up in a web of preposterous lies and a series of outlandish plot twists ranging from used rubbers on his bed to an asthmatic midget male stripper who likes to hang out with a white chick named Bridget. Throughout all of these misadventures, the drama is played as fiercely straight as R. Kelly, and the tale is told through rhyme after rhyme after rhyme. And y’all get to singalong to line after line after line.
