Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013

Hey Chicago Horror Fans,

We are excited to announce that Music Box Films has started a new genre distribution label called Doppelgänger Releasing.

Please “like” us on Facebook at Facebook.com/doppelgangerreleasing for exclusive clips and trailers from our first two releases, the outrageous and grisly horror-comedies EDDIE: THE SLEEPWALKING CANNIBAL and 100 BLOODY ACRES.

IN FACT, if you “like” our page within the next 24 hours, you will automatically be registered to win a free digital download of EDDIE from iTunes.

The first Doppelgänger release is EDDIE: THE SLEEPWALKING CANNIBAL, and although it doesn’t “officially” open in Chicago until April 26, we’re having a special sneak preview THIS Friday and Saturday at midnight.

We hope you will check it out and let us know what you think. Here is what some of the critics have been saying:

“Absurdly satisfying! Inspired! Strikes just the right balance between camp horror and clever satire.” – Village Voice

“Pure fun from its first moment to its last. Eddie has “future cult film” written all over it.” – Twitch Film

Hope to see you soon!

Eddie: The Sleepwalking Cannibal

A film by Boris Rodriguez starring Thure Lindhardt, Dylan Smith and Georgina Reilly

Part muse. Part sleepwalking cannibal.

“Beneath the surface outrageousness lies a surprisingly, satisfyingly dark little fable about the essentially cannibalistic nature of artistic inspiration.”
–Mike D’Angelo, AV Club

A struggling artist is in need of inspiration. While decamping in the middle of nowhere, he’s found it in a new friend, Eddie…a sleepwalking cannibal.

Eddie pushes the boundaries of the horror-comedy genre, weaving together a story that blends twisted friendship, love and, of course, the gory reality of sleepwalking cannibalism. Eddie is fun, fresh, entertaining and seriously warped, the way a sleepwalking-cannibal movie should be.
