Xanadu

A film by Robert Greenwald starring Olivia Newton-John, Gene Kelly and Michael Beck

This romantic musical fantasy film is the story of Sonny Malone and the search for his muse. After running into a roller-skating woman named Kira (Olivia Newton-John), Sonny becomes obsessed with finding her again. He is lead to an abandoned auditorium, where he finds Kira again. Literally a Greek muse, she unites him with Danny McGuire (Gene Kelly), a man who was similarly inspired by Kira 40 years ago. They team up to build the world’s greatest roller disco rink.

The Last of the Haussmans

A film by Howard Davies starring Julie Walters, Rory Kinnear, and Helen McCrory

Julie Walters plays Judy Haussman with Rory Kinnear and Helen McCrory as her children in this eagerly-anticipated new play: a funny, touching and sometimes savage portrait of a family that’s losing its grip.

Anarchic, feisty but growing old, high society drop-out Judy Haussman remains in spirit with the Ashrams of the 1960s while holding court in her dilapidated Art Deco house on the Devon coast. After an operation, she’s joined by wayward offspring Nick and Libby, sharp-eyed granddaughter Summer, local doctor Peter, and Daniel, a troubled teenager who makes use of the family’s crumbling swimming pool. Together they share a few sweltering months in this chaotic world of all-day drinking, infatuations, long-held resentments, free love and failure.

One of Britain’s best-loved and most versatile actors, Julie Walters has won BAFTA, Golden Globe and Olivier Awards for her work. Her screen credits range from Educating Rita to celebrated work with Victoria Wood, from lead roles in the movies of Mamma Mia! and Harry Potter to portraying Mo Mowlam for Channel 4.

Rory Kinnear recently won the Evening Standard Award for Best Actor for his performance as Hamlet at the National Theatre. Helen McCrory’s acclaimed work includes the films The Queen and, recently, Hugo.

Keep the Lights On

A film by Ira Sachs starring Thure Lindhardt, Zachary Booth, Julianne Nicholson, Souleymane Sy Savane

An emotionally and sexually charged journey of two men in New York City through love, friendship, and addiction.

“Out of lost love comes a terrific work of art; it’s the oldest story in the world, but it always feels new when it’s done right.”
Salon.com

Documentary filmmaker Erik (acclaimed Danish actor Thure Lindhardt in his first leading role in a U.S. film) and closeted lawyer Paul (Zachary Booth, Damages) meet through a casual encounter, but soon find a deeper connection and become a couple. Individually and together, they are risk takers—compulsive, and fueled by drugs and sex.

In an almost decade‐long relationship defined by highs, lows, and dysfunctional patterns, Erik struggles to negotiate his own boundaries and dignity while being true to himself.

Dune

A film by David Lynch starring Kyle MacLachlan, Virginia Madsen, and Francesca Annis

Too epic? Too many creative inputs? Too ambitious? Nonsense! After a decade’s worth of production troubles, producer Dino De Laurentiis and writer-director David Lynch teamed up to make the messy masterpiece they would come to disagree on. Power and immortality are up for grabs on the planet Dune as the prophetic Paul Atreides leads a bunch of surpressed workers in a grand revolt. Critics may have been harsh and the movie may have bombed, but over the years the fans have kept Dune alive and relevant, a true force in visceral sci-fi poetry.

The American Scream

A film by Michael Paul Stephenson starring Matthew Brodeur, Victor Bariteau and Manny Souza

“Clearly a labor of love from all involved, The American Scream is a warm and touching look at three families doing what they love with what they have.”
–Luke Mullen, Film School Rejects

“I consistently alternated beaming and welling up tears throughout the entirety of Michael Paul Stephenson’s THE AMERICAN SCREAM. And you’re likely to, as well”
–Samuel Zimmerman, Fangoria

From the director of Best Worst Movie, The American Scream follows Halloween in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, where every year, the most ambitiously creative spookery in the world is revealed. The Bariteau, Souza, and Brodeur families are known as “haunters” and spend hours upon hours turning their homes into elaborate haunted houses every Halloween. This documentary follows them through their hardships and triumphs, and paints a compelling and sometimes heartbreaking portrait of American blue-collar life.
