This Thursday, the Music Box is joined by Sound Opinions to present a special screening of High Fidelity, starring John Cusack. Adapted from the book by Nick Hornby (About A Boy), High Fidelity is a Chicago-set film about a 30-something record shop owner in a mid-life crisis.

Filmed on 6th July 2013 in front of a capacity audience of over 60,000, the concert film captures the momentous evening in the Italian capital and showcases the most extravagant set build and spectacular stage show of any Muse tour to date. Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot bring their Sound Opinions knowledge to legendary music film High Fidelity.

Every week, “Sound Opinions” fires up smart and spirited discussions about a wide range of popular music, from indie rock to classic rock, hip hop to R&B, and every genre under the sun. Pop music critic Jim DeRogatis and Chicago Tribune music critic Greg Kot invite you to head to the Music Box Theatre to see High Fidelity directed by Stephen Frears and starring John Cusack.

When record store owner Rob Gordon gets dumped by his girlfriend because he hasn’t changed since they met, he revisits his top five breakups of all time in an attempt to figure out what went wrong. High Fidelity features music by The Kinks, The Velvet Underground, Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Stereolab and Stevie Wonder.
