For over two decades, Thanksgiving has been celebrated at the Music Box Theatre with the Von Trapp Singers and THE SOUND OF MUSIC. This annual event has grown with thousands of people joining in on the fun. This fun-filled tradition includes a screening of the classic Julie Andrews musical in glorious, full-screen technicolor, complete with subtitles so that the whole audience can sing along!

Each screening features a 20-minute preshow beginning at the listed showtime with engaging lyric videos, trivia, and the Music Box’s beloved Costume Contest!

Grab your lederhosen, practice your best Maria von Trapp impression and get ready to enjoy Rodgers & Hammerstein's The Sound of Music Sing-A-Long! Join us in your city for a screening of the smash-hit 1965 movie musical, newly restored and remastered in stunning 4K and complete with onscreen lyrics. Based on the amazing true story of The Trapp Family Singers, The Sound of Music is a cinematic landmark and winner of five Academy Awards®, including Best Picture. Starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, the film features timeless songs by Rodgers & Hammerstein including "My Favorite Things," "Do-Re-Mi," "Edelweiss,” "Climb Ev'ry Mountain” and more.

Before the film begins, you’ll test your knowledge with movie trivia and learn how to participate throughout the screening with an interactive light show during some of the film’s most memorable moments. You’ll then enjoy the movie with your fellow attendees – costumed nuns, Maria look-alikes and von Trapp children – all singing their hearts out to the classic Rodgers & Hammerstein tunes. Costumes are not obligatory but highly recommended!
