August 28 & 29, we’re going off the beaten path with two hidden gems of shot-on-video horror written and directed by the force of nature known as Jon McBride. In the backwoods hikes of Woodchipper Massacre and Cannibal Campout, sibling trios dominate the food chain and show us that blood really can be thicker than water.

In Cannibal Campout, two college couples hit the road for a weekend camping trip in the deep woods of New Jersey. One of their friends tries to spook them with a tall tale about a missing family and a blood-soaked campsite, but it turns out there’s a very real threat in these woods. Three cannibalistic brothers (one of them hiding his face behind a fighter pilot helmet and an oxygen mask) are always looking for more bodies to throw on the grill in their open-air smokehouse with a fully set dinner table and a shrine to their mother!
Cannibal Campout is all flannels, overalls, finger-licking gore, and gleeful references to kindred classics like Deliverance (1972), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1984), Motel Hell (1980), and the Friday the 13th franchise—all the fixings for a gnarly horror comedy!
We’re also screening Jon McBride’s Woodchipper Massacre (1988) on Friday, August 28 at 11:59pm!
