Dreamgirls and Beauty and the Beast director Bill Condon returns to the movie musical in this dazzling Technicolor-hued fantasy. Valentín (Diego Luna), a political prisoner, shares a cell with Molina (Tonatiuh), a window dresser convicted of public indecency. The two form an unlikely bond as Molina recounts the plot of a Hollywood musical starring his favorite silver screen diva, Ingrid Luna (Jennifer Lopez). Based on the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical hit.

Lío Mehiel Bio

Lío Mehiel made their feature film debut in MUTT, which won them the Special Jury Prize for Acting at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. They returned to Sundance in 2024 as part of the Grand Jury Prize winning film IN THE SUMMERS starring Residente. Most recently, Lío starred in Jeremy O. Harris' new play SPIRIT OF THE PEOPLE at Williamstown, and can now be seen in Luca Guadagnino's AFTER THE HUNT.

Tonatiuh Bio

After a worldwide search, Tonatiuh was cast as Luis Molina, the lead in Bill Condon’s Kiss of the Spider Woman, a musical adaptation of Manuel Puig’s acclaimed novel, starring opposite Jennifer Lopez and Diego Luna. The film premiered at Sundance 2025 to glowing reviews, with The Hollywood Reporter’s David Rooney calling it a “head-turning breakout performance” and Deadline’s Pete Hammond praising Tonatiuh as “heartbreakingly good.”

On the streaming side, Tonatiuh made his Netflix debut in the global hit Carry-On, playing Mateo Flores alongside Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman. The action thriller shattered records, becoming Netflix’s third most-watched film of all time, with over 172 million views in its first four months.
Tonatiuh will appear in Ryan Murphy’s Love Story in February. Other roles include: Vida, Promised Land and has appeared in Peacock’s Angelyne, Jane the Virgin, Chicago Med, and indie films Drunk Bus and Shoplifters of the World.
