ACM’s popular Sound of Silent Film Festival, now in its 21st year, is a unique event featuring new short silent films – spanning comedy, drama, experimental and beyond – screened with newly-composed musical scores performed live.
We sourced the films through an international call and ten were selected out of more than a hundred submissions.
The festival takes place at the Music Box Theatre—one of Chicago’s true cinematic treasures—on Wednesday, April 8th at 7:30 PM.
Music Box Theatre screens films of all genres and from every era of cinema, both new releases and repertory. These films may sometimes contain upsetting, outdated, or offensive material. While we aim to introduce many of our screenings, we do not always provide warnings about potentially triggering content within the films we screen. We encourage our patrons to research the film before they attend using trailers, reviews, or content information found on Common Sense Media, IMDb and DoesTheDogDie.com.
