Jet Li and Chin Siu-ho are two young Shaolin monks unjustly kicked out of the monastery and forced to adapt to live in the secular world. The power-hungry Chin becomes a soldier for an evil eunuch, a betrayal of Buddhist principles that literally causes Li to lose his mind. With the help of some local rebels, including Michelle Yeoh, Li regains his stability, and meanwhile invents the Tai-Chi style of fighting, which he uses to defeat his former friend. - Hong Kong Babylon
