THE LEGEND OF KINGDOM COME tells the story of the beloved 90s-era graphic novel KINGDOM COME, going behind the scenes and inside the mind of its creator: comic book legend Alex Ross. 

This film traces the influence of comics history through the present day, exploring the roots of pop culture's most vibrant medium in the 21st century. Featuring a wide range of comic luminaries reflecting on the book and industry, THE LEGEND OF KINGDOM COME seeks to answer the question: Why are comic heroes so beloved?

Following its successful Kickstarter campaign in October 2024, this feature-length documentary is coming to the Music Box in Chicago for its North American Premiere.
